Katie Price: 'Coronavirus would probably finish Harvey off'

Katie Price admits her fears that if disabled son Harvey catches coronavirus, "it would probably finish him off".

Katie Price has opened up about her concerns for son Harvey amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic, admitting that she is fearful he will die if he catches the disease.

The 18-year-old is severely disabled, suffering from a number of conditions including autism, partial blindness and Prader-Willi syndrome, the latter of which has caused his weight to spiral to a morbidly obese 29 stone.

Earlier this year Harvey was hospitalised with breathing difficulties, while Katie's mother is battling a terminal condition that also affects her breathing, placing both of them in the high risk category for coronavirus.

Speaking to The Sun, Katie revealed: "My mum and Harvey are both very high risk from COVID.

"My mum and Harvey are very high risk. You can hear him breathing. Because he is a big boy you can just hear him breathing. Even if he gets a cold that is bad.

"If he gets COVID it would probably finish him off. That is not a joke. So we are really, really, really careful."

The first vaccine to combat COVID-19 began rolling out across the UK earlier this week and although Harvey would be considered a priority to receive the vaccine due to his condition, his age means that he is in the fourth group on the NHS's priority list and is unlikely to be offered treatment for another month or two.
