Liverpool are reportedly set to listen to offers for defender Nat Phillips after Rhys Williams was recalled from his loan spell at Blackpool.

Liverpool are reportedly set to allow Nat Phillips to leave this month after Rhys Williams was recalled from his loan at Blackpool.

The duo were a surprise partnership for the Reds in the 2020-21 Premier League season after injuries to Virgil van Dijk, Joel Matip and Joe Gomez, as the club won eight of their last 10 matches to seal Champions League qualification.

The Athletic reports that Williams's return from his loan will allow Phillips to leave, either on loan or on a permanent basis.

The 25-year-old has featured for a total of 66 minutes in the Premier League so far this season and is keen to leave Anfield in order to play regular first-team football.

The report claims that Bournemouth, Burnley and Southampton were interested in a move for the defender last summer, whilst Benfica saw an offer for a season-long loan rejected as the Reds kept Phillips around for cover in the position.

The defender has made just 70 senior appearances, and has had loan spells at Stuttgart and Bournemouth so far in his career.
